  5 Fishmarket Street, Thaxted, Essex CM6 2PG

Tea Room nestles in the heart of medieval Thaxted in Essex; a picturesque medieval market town with a recorded history dating back to before the Domesday Book (1086).

The owner hails from a long line of tea planters and with this family heritage, as you would expect, has carefully sourced a wide variety of quality loose leaf teas from around the world. All the cakes and scones are lovingly homemade on the premises and many of the quality ingredients are sourced from local suppliers, farmers and producers.

is close to the many attractions of this medieval market town including the Cutlers Guildhall, the restored John Webb windmill, the Church of St John the Baptist, Our Lady & St Laurence where Gustav Holst played the organ and the infamous Dick Turpin’s cottage.

“If you are cold, tea will warm you. If you are too heated, it will cool you. If you are depressed, it will cheer you. If you are excited, it will calm you." Gladstone, 1865
